Plants are weird things to put in the mail. We know.
That's why we pack every order with the needs of a living plant in mind.
During our fulfillment operations, we carefully inspect and pack your plants for their trip to your door. We consider weather, temperature, destination, and time in transit before sending live plants on their way.
Shipping plants nationwide from Erie, Pennsylvania.
How Shipping Works
1. You Pick Your Plants
Find something worth growing and place your order online.
2. We Check & Pack Them
Every plant is inspected before shipment and carefully packed to help protect the plant, pot, soil, and foliage during transit.
3. We Watch the Weather
We're shipping living things, so weather matters.
Extreme heat, freezing temperatures, storms, or carrier disruptions may cause us to temporarily hold an order rather than knowingly send your plant into unsafe conditions.
4. Your Plants Hit the Road
Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking information so you can follow its journey.
5. Bring Them Inside
Live plants shouldn't spend any more time outside than necessary.
Once your package is delivered, bring it inside promptly, carefully unpack your plants, and give them a little time to settle into their new home.
When Your Plant Arrives
Give it a minute.
Your new plant just had a considerably more exciting week than most houseplants.
When your order arrives:
Bring the package inside promptly.
Carefully unpack your plants.
Remove protective packaging.
Inspect the plant, pot, and soil.
Check the soil before watering. Don't automatically water just because the plant arrived.
Place it in appropriate light.
Give it time to acclimate before making unnecessary changes.
We generally recommend avoiding immediate repotting unless there's a specific reason the plant needs it.
Something Wrong?
We've got a guarantee for that.
Every eligible live plant is protected by our Mary Mae Live Arrival Guarantee.
If your plant arrives dead or significantly damaged, contact us within 48 hours of confirmed delivery.
Please photograph the plant and packaging before repotting, substantially pruning, treating, or discarding anything.
We'll ask for:
• Your order number
• A photograph of the entire plant
• Close-ups of the affected areas
• A photograph of the nursery pot and soil
• Photographs of the internal packaging
• Photographs of the shipping box if it appears damaged
Approved claims may be resolved with a replacement, refund, store credit, or another appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances, inventory, and applicable law.

Some orders may ship on Thursday when the destination, transit time, and weather conditions make it reasonable to do so.

We prepare orders as quickly as reasonably possible, but we're shipping living things, so sometimes waiting is the better choice.

We're shipping from Erie, Pennsylvania, so we take cold weather seriously. During periods of extreme cold, we may modify our packaging, delay shipments, limit certain destinations, or temporarily suspend live plant shipping.

We monitor hot weather too.
Extreme heat can be just as stressful for plants as freezing temperatures. We may hold or modify shipments when temperatures create an unreasonable risk to the plants.

Unless a listing specifically says “Exact Plant Pictured,” you'll receive a plant of the same variety and general size and quality represented by the listing.
Plants are living things, so height, width, leaf count, coloration, variegation, branching, and overall appearance naturally vary.
-
Unless otherwise stated, sizes such as 4-inch or 6-inch refer to the approximate diameter of the nursery pot, not the height or width of the plant.
-
Only if the product description specifically says it does.
Most plants are sold in their nursery grow pots. Decorative planters and other accessories shown in photographs may be sold separately.
